We are passionate about teaching the performing arts and love working with children. Our instructors have decades of combined training.
MARLO SHAVER PRESTON (Owner / Artistic Director / Instructor)
Marlo is a nationally recognized dance instructor, choreographer and competition judge. In 2005, she returned to her hometown to share her love of dance and stage with performers in her native tri-state community.  She has trained students from all over the country including Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, California and here in our tri-state area (West Virginia, Kentucky & Ohio). Her choreography influences have spread across the country impacting current dance trends. Marlo’s dancers have appeared in both movies "Step Up" and "Step Up 2", on the Fox Television Network show "So You Think You Can Dance!", in CBS primetime television (Ryan Seacrest Production) "Jamie Oliver series", and on the Lifetime Television show "Dance Moms" .  Her choreography and dancers were showcased at the Duke Theatre on broadways own 42nd Street in New York City.  Marlo's dancers have moved on to become Rockettes at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City, performed with Alvin Alley in New York City, Debbie Allen at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., in China, London, Spain, Italy, and from coast to coast in America.  Several of her former students have continued their education, on both Ballet and Jazz scholarships, at Point Park University, in Pittsburgh, PA, one of the top performing arts schools in America. Marlo's students have received numerous top national competition scores and titles.  Marlo has taught many master classes at various studios and universities across the country and is currently on staff to teach Musical Theatre at Marshall University.  She has appeared in such ballets as "Sleeping Beauty", "Swan Lake" and "Giselle".  Marlo has also performed in such musicals as "Hello Dolly", "Cats" and "Music Man".  She received her extensive training from Pointe Park University, as well as from such famous namesakes as Dee Caspary, Andy Blankenbuehler, Gus Goirdano, Frank Hatchett, Al Gilbert, Ronnie DeMarco, David Howard and Duncan Noble, to name a few.  One of Marlo's students, Caitlin Kinney, appeared as a top finalist on Fox Broadcasting Television's popular show "So You Think You Can Dance".  Caitlin also performed on the national tour with "So You Think You Can Dance".  Marlo has the heart, mind and sole of a dance instructor and loves to develop each individual student’s gifts and talents.
MICHELLE SHAVER HEINER (Owner / Administrative Director / Instructor)
Michelle has decades of dance training and education in such disciplines as ballet, contemporary/lyrical, jazz, acrobatics, tumbling, musical theatre dance, tap, twirling and cheerleading. Her training began at Dickinson School of Dance which carried her to train with Dance Educators of America and such greats as Gus Giordano, Al Gilbert, Frank Hatchett and Ronnie Demarco. She has also trained with New York City Dance Alliance current choreographers such as Joe Lanteri, Andy Blankenbuehler, Rhonda Miller and Suzi Taylor. Michelle has performed in local, community musical theatre. She loves working with the students and especially loves to watch their self-confidence and love for performing blossom.
PATTI SHAVER (Owner / Managing Director / Instructor)
Patti’s performing arts influences have spanned decades in our region of the country. Her name is synonymous with “performing arts” and her efforts have been tireless throughout the years. Her involvement in the performing arts community includes co-founding Huntington Outdoor Theatre where she serves as Vice-President and Managing Director, serving as choreographer in many regional Broadway musicals, and training dancers, majorettes, twirlers, flags/rifle corps and cheerleaders for over 50 years. Her instruction has continued for multiple decades and led her to work with such dance legends as Gus Giordano, Frank Hatchett, Al Gilbert and Ronnie Demarco. Patti has instructed and coached three generations of well trained performers.
MANDY BOHM (Voice Instructor)
Mandy has been singing and performing her entire life.  She credits her musically gifted parents, Larry and Che-Che Mobley, for teaching her the importance of quality music and how to communicate through song.  Mandy earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Business from Anderson University (Anderson, IN) in 1994.  She was a soloist in churches and concert hall across the United States, Finland, Sweden and Russia.  She earned a Master's Degree in Voice Performance from Marshall University in 2001, where she auditioned for and won all eligible vocal competitions and solos.  Between earning degrees, Mandy continued voice lessons in Brooklyn N.Y., performed at The Airport Playhouse in Bohemia, Long Island, auditioned for the N.Y. Metropolitan Opera National Council, and was selected to perform at a Master Class at the University of Kentucky for the famous soprano, Anna Moffo.  Mandy taught private lessons at Kentucky Christian University (2000-2004) and Marshall University (2005-2006).  She also appeared as Gretel in MU's production of "Hansel and Gretel".  In 2007, she joined the pastoral staff of Teays Valley Church of God in Scott Depot, WV, as the director of Worship Arts.  She leads their 50 member adult choir, worship teams, band and congregation in music each week.  Mandy joined Elite Performance Academy as the Vocal Instructor in 2010 and has thoroughly enjoyed her students!
SARAH HAYES (Instructor)
Sarah Hayes, a Huntington native and familiar face to our performing arts community, returned to her hometown and has joined the teaching staff at Elite Performance Academy.  Sarah is a graduate of Radford University where she completed her BS degree in Dance Education with K-12 Teacher Licensure and a minor in Theatre.  While attending Radford, Sarah performed in numerous dance concerts and musicals and was given the opportunity to perform in West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee and in four New York City choreograhy showcases.  Her professional experience includes the role of "Sillabub" for West Virginia Public Theater's production of CATS as well as dancing for Theater West Virginia's productions of Hatfields and McCoys, Honey in the Rock, and Rocket Boys, the musical.  Sarah's has served as guest choreographer for the Bridgeport High School dance ensemble along with being an instructor at Dance-Tech studio in Blacksburg, Virginia and the Art Center School of Dance in Huntington, West Virginia.  Having officially moved back to her hometown of Huntington, Sarah is so thrilled to be on staff at Elite!  
Bridget is a founding instructor at Elite Performance Academy. Her dance training began in Illinois at the University of Illinois youth extension program, before she moved to Huntington and continued her dance training with Patti Shaver and Dickenson School of Dance. Bridget has received technical training in a variety of disciplines including ballet, jazz and cheerleading. She is a beautiful and inspiring ballet dancer and is committed to sharing her lovely technique with her students on a weekly basis.

ALEX RAHAL (Instructor)

Deanna is a founding instructor at Elite Performance Academy. Her training began with Patti Shaver and Dickenson School of Dance which carried her to train with Dance Educators of America and with Fred Miller Summer Twirling Clinics. She has received technical training in a variety of disciplines including baton, flag, hoop and ribbon twirling, acrobatics, ballet, jazz, and cheerleading. Deanna was a majorette at Huntington High School and a member of the flag corps at Marshall University. Her love of twirling and field corps performing motivates her to pass these techniques to future generations.
